PILATES is an exercise system that incorporates the mind-body principles including core strengthening, increased flexibility and release work (relaxing tight parts of the body which limit movement). During this mind-body workout, clients will partake in exercises that will challenge the individual level of the client while maintaining proper form.
Created in the 1900's by Joseph Pilates, this workout system was initially developed to help rehabilitate soldiers in Germany. After much success, Joseph Pilates then brought his Pilates program to the New York dance community in 1926. Now, PILATES is used in a variety of locations, from gyms to hospitals, to improve health and overall well being of those looking to increase energy, reduce body fat, and improve posture.
PILATES continues to grow and evolve to meet the needs of anyone wanting to improve his or her ability to move with strength, ease and grace.
The newest evolution in Pilates is PILOXING! PILOXING was created by Viveca Jensen,to give her Pilates students the cardio they need in addition to Pilates. PILOXING incorporates the beautiful sculpting and flexibility of Pilates while simultaneously incorporating the power, speed and agility of boxing. Sexy and fun dance moves are also included into the class to build a high intensity, low impact cardio workout, that is both challenging and fun. To compliment the workout, clients have the option of using 1/2 pound weighted PILOXING gloves to add a muscular and cardio challenge.

Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Ashley moved to Texas in 2009 after graduating from the University of Arizona. She quickly found interest in Pilates during college years and, upon graduation, continued taking classes when she moved to Cypress, Texas.
Ashley had gained core strength in her early years through showing horses competitively all around the country for 12 years of her life; however, she found Pilates to give her strength and flexibility like never before.
Becoming Reformer/Mat Pilates certified in 2010 and through teaching Pilates, she found a new love in helping people achieve their goals as well as a healthy lifestyle. Continuing education with Balanced Body, a worldwide Pilates certification program, has opened her eyes to a new understanding of the true benefits of Pilates. In August of 2011, Ashley gained her certification of Piloxing to add to her repertoire of knowledge. Piloxing is a great addition to Pilates creating powerful strength through boxing, sleek and slender bodies through Pilates, and feeling sexy and confident through dance. She wanted to offer these two philosophies in one space; so, she opened up Trinity Pilates Studio in November of 2011.
The meaning behind the name: Trinity Pilates is named after the “holy trinity” of Pilates being strength, stretching, and release. Her mentor Jill Lucas, Master instructor at Balanced Body, helped inspire the idea. Every routine incorporates all three of these aspects to ensure a whole mind-body experience every time the client enters Trinity Pilates Studio.
